Survey committee - overview
The role of the Survey Committee is to analyze the results of school-wide surveys and present their findings to the SIP Committee in an attempt to ever better and improve the school.
The Survey Committee was formed from two volunteer staff members in the academic year 2014/15 in a process designed to spread the load of work of the school administration, and to help involve more teaching staff in school-wide analysis and to inform the school administration and School Improvement Planning Committee about comments/key areas that arose from the set surveys.
Objectives
- To create a school Survey Committee from volunteer members of the faculty that will use survey results to gauge the school-wide culture and feeling of the school and to look at areas that the school needs to try to improve.
- Results from each survey, and from Stakeholder Suggestion Forms, are summarized and presented to the school’s School Improvement Planning (SIP) Committee which in turn uses the results to improve school climate, including creating more caring, inclusive social norms, as well as identifying trends and needs.
- To focus not only on improving the education that ASM offers its students, but to look at how the school’s nurturing environment can be both maintained and improved.
The Survey Committee uses Cognia surveys or creates tailor-made online surveys, checked with the School Principal that are then distributed to stakeholder groups.
The Survey Committee meets formally twice a year – at end-January / beginning-February and again at end-June. The first meeting is to select/edit Cognia surveys, namely the Climate and Culture Surveys, Inventory Surveys and the Student Engagement Surveys and school-produced surveys. After selecting and sending the surveys, results are analyzed and disseminated across all stakeholder groups. They also look at results from the Macedonian State Matura Examinations to identify trends and how ASM can improve further.
A Stakeholder Suggestion Form has also continuously been in place on the website.
