1 Supplementary resources & – ASM Teachers

Supplementary resources and materials

Teachers are expected to use supplementary resources and materials in their lessons to support the quality of instruction that takes place in their classes and to accommodate the specific needs of each class. These resources are also used to ensure that there is adequate material to allow for differentiated learning should the need arise.

The following list of supplementary resources and materials has been collated as a result of PLCs that have emanated from the Curriculum Mapping Committee (CMC) Workshops. Teachers are expected to use these supplementary resources and materials in their lessons to bolster the quality of instruction, to accommodate the specific needs of each class, and to ensure that there is adequate material to allow for differentiated learning should the need arise. When used, make sure that these resources/materials are included in all lesson plans.

If/when in doubt about an additional resource to use, speak with the Curricululm Coordinator. In addition, if you come across an additional credible resource, pass it on to the Curriculum Coordinator. He/she will scrutinize the source, and if deemed to be appropriate, they will pass on the information to the School Principal who will add it to the list of information resources and materials.

Teachers’ e-Calendar

Along with the School Calendar that details the academic year in terms of quarter and semester start and end dates and holidays, we also produce a Teachers’ Calendar (e-calendar) that includes information regarding the various committee meetings within the school, and teacher meetings. You can look back at meeting agendas, PLC sessions and accompanying handouts.

Teachers will be shown how to use the e-calendar during orientation and again by the IT Helpdesk.
